Anti-wrinkle injections are becoming a go-to treatment for both men and women looking to refresh their appearance. Over time, repeated facial movements—like frowning, squinting, and even smiling—can cause lines and wrinkles to form, making the face look tired. These injections target specific areas, helping to soften these lines and restore a more youthful look.
Using an FDA-approved formula, anti-wrinkle injections work by relaxing the muscles responsible for deep-set lines. This prevents excessive contractions that lead to wrinkles while still allowing for natural expressions—no frozen faces here!
Since everyone ages differently, a one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t work. That’s why a consultation is essential to assess your concerns and create a bespoke treatment plan tailored to your needs.
The procedure itself is quick and precise, using a fine needle to deliver the product directly into the targeted muscles. House of Riri's expert team ensures the right amount is administered to smooth the skin while maintaining a natural look.
Common areas treated include:
✔ Forehead lines
✔ Crow’s feet (lines around the eyes)
✔ Frown lines
✔ Lip lines (smoker’s lines)
✔ Chin dimpling
✔ Marionette lines (downturned corners of the mouth)
✔ Bunny lines (lines on the nose)
✔ Neck bands
Results typically last around 3 to 4 months, with regular top-ups helping to maintain a fresher, more youthful appearance.

Although the signs of ageing usually start to appear when a person is in their 30’s, the process often begins several years before. When repeated facial movements combine with weakening skin (as collagen and elastin start to deplete) the fine lines that would appear and then disappear during facial expressions can start to become permanent and more defined.
A thorough facial assessment during a pre-treatment consultation will take into account the depth of your wrinkles and your realistic outcomes to ensure a bespoke treatment plan is made, just for you.
The effects of wrinkle injections for cosmetic uses has been extensively researched, throughout the world. First given FDA approval 2002 it has been used millions of times and when administered by an experienced injector, produces many safe and effective results.
When injected correctly, the treatment is very safe and is increasingly being used to treat a variety of different medical and aesthetic issues, including: migraines, excessive sweating, jaw clenching and gummy smile correction.
As the injections are being administered, a slight tingling sensation may be felt. In general, anti-wrinkle injections are not particularly painful and the use of a very fine needle helps to make this treatment as comfortable as possible. It almost feels like a pinch to the skin which lasts 3 seconds and immediately goes away!
Just as ageing differs from person to person, so does every person’s own level of comfort and a numbing cream may be applied to the treatment area 20 – 30 minutes beforehand if the therapist feels this is necessary. Any sensitivity will only last for the duration of the treatment, as it is being administered.
After the treatment, you may find small red bumps on the skin where the injections were administered which can also be accompanied by some slight bruising or a minor headache. These effects are only temporary and will often have disappeared within a few days.
When administered correctly, complications are rare and the team will explain all potential side effects during your pre-treatment consultation, including: headaches, fever, poor healing and scarring.
It is usual for patients to continue with their day within a couple of hours of having undergone anti-wrinkle injections and in most cases, any sensitivity has subsided within 24 or 48 hours.
The results from this treatment will start to show after 3 – 10 days, with the full outcome being visible at around day 30. Although causing no disruption to your day, it is advised that you avoid strenuous activity, Saunas and other facial treatments for up to 24 hours.

We use various brands of dermal fillers here at House of Riri. We’ll confirm which is right for you and the look you want to achieve during consultation but all are hyaluronic acid based, licensed for use in the UK and approved by insurers.
We use a strong topical cream on the lips before the treatment and the fillers we use contain an ingredient called Lidocaine which provides effective pain relief during the procedure. Pain thresholds can vary from one client to the next but the majority of people who come here experience nothing more than some discomfort during their treatment.
Some swelling is likely due to the insertion of a needle and the product that’s been injected. The blood supply within the face is made of thousands of vessels and capillaries which are very difficult to avoid, even for injectors as experienced as ours! We always take great care during treatment but some patients may bruise. We advise you to plan your appointment at least 2 weeks ahead of any event that you want to look your best for! It can take a couple of weeks for swelling and bruising to subside fully. However, we do provide clients with aftercare bags - which include arnica cream and a cold compress (which can be used to manage the healing process after having your treatment with us!
Yes and no! You’ll see added volume and definition straight after the procedure but swelling can cause treated areas to look uneven or lumpy at first. Recovery time can vary between patients but we say to allow at least two weeks for your body to recover properly after any injectable treatment, then you’ll see the final result!
Hyaluronic acid is naturally found within our skin so the chance of a reaction to injected filler is very rare. Our practitioners are highly skilled individuals and not only do they know how to inject safely, they’re trained to be able to both diagnose and treat accordingly in the event of any complication during treatment. It’s very important that client’s follow all of the aftercare that is provided to ensure a fast, trouble free recovery!
We say that fillers in the lips can last around 6 to 9 months but treatment longevity can vary between patients as metabolism, lifestyle and whether you’ve had treatment previously can all have an effect. Fillers tend to take longer to break down if you’ve had the treatment before and if your water consumption on a daily basis is high.
Yes you can, our practitioners have helped hundreds of people just like you - but it doesn’t happen after one visit to the clinic. Numerous sessions will often be required to increase lip volume, size and shape safely. Our advice would be to repeat your treatment spaced between one to three months apart to build up the filler until you’re happy with the size, then it’s just a case of maintaining the look so it’s best to book for a top up whenever you feel that you’re losing volume.
Yes, hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved using a product called hyaluronidase. This is an enzyme that once injected, works to break down the filler straight away. It can be used in an emergency situation, if someone is unhappy with results or if someone wants to start fresh for a new look that couldn’t be achieved with existing filler being present. patients wanting new filler after having old filler dissolved, should wait two weeks between treatments.
